Shriek of the Living Dead is a ghoulish shooter where you use the ogre, Shriek, to save the Easter Bunny from the zombies. It features good animated graphics, simple gameplay, 3 levels of difficulty, fun graveyard-inspired sound effects & background music, timed gameplay, mouse control, and more. This game is like the coming together of two festivals, Easter and Halloween (could anything be more opposite?). The story is that the Easter Bunny got a late start and had to cut through the cemetery. However, the Zombies start coming out of the graves and you must not let them touch the bunny or she will lose health. You use the mouse to place the helpful ogre Shriek over the zombies and club them. Well, that's the author's story. To us it looks more like the ogre has a severe case of terminal flatulence and is blasting the zombies with something other than a club. You make up your own mind... This is not a complicated game and does not require much in the way of either imagination or game skills. There is no doubt it is well crafted, but the concept of the game is limited and Shriek of the Living Dead therefore has a limited long term appeal. Still, it is fun and worth a look.
